Is it just me or does the second trailer for House of Cards seem a bit … wheels off? It’s apparent the reporters have made the connection between Frank Underwood and the death of congressman Peter Russo. So is season 2 a murder thriller? Will more people have to die as Underwood assumes the vice presidency? Why does all of this have the feel of The Sopranos? Or even Omen 3?
Of course, House of Cards may decide to be truly British, and there will only be a handful of seasons—the show will be devoted to the murder investigation and who is implicated, ending in Underwood’s downfall. Or he gets away with it, and we end with the swearing-in of President Underwood.
